Shift F7 Group adds to acquisition tally

Datashare Solutions, which was acquired by Shift F7 in 2012, has bough NJL Communications for undisclosed sum

Ambitious VAR Shift F7 Group has expanded its footprint, after one of its group companies, Datashare Solutions (DSL), acquired telecoms specialist NJL Communications.

The deal, for an undislosed sum, is the first acquisition by DSL, which was itself bought in 2012 as the first of a series of many non-competing acquisitions, planned by the Shift F7 Group.

Garry King, chief executive of Shift F7 Group, said: "The acquisition provides DSL a perfect platform to take advantage of NJL’s historical Telecom experience with our own datacentre services for converged infrastructure led solutions. We have set out to build a managed service business that understands our client’s technological aspirations and this acquisition provides another pillar in that strategy.”

He explained that NJL owner Nick Lee will be staying with the company, working as sales and market director.

“NJL is a dynamic business dealing with complex data and telecommunications solutions for a wide range of clients across Europe," he said. "Nick’s proven experience and loyal customer base along with DSL and Shift F7’s infrastructure will be an excellent accelerator for our managed services growth strategy”.

In a statement, Lee said: “Joining DSL makes perfect sense. DSL and the Shift F7 Group provide the wherewithal to deliver compelling IT solutions and expand the range of services that I can currently offer. This is good news for me and NJL customers.”

John Eady, managing director of DSL, added, “Nick’s skills will substantially add to our plans for future growth and we look forward to welcoming Nick to the team”
