Insight and SCC lead the way on mega NHS framework
Eleven channel firms win a place on northern NHS deal which could be worth up to £250m
Insight and SCC have won a place on all four lots of a massive NHS deal along with nine other channel firms which have popped up on the framework.
The reseller duo are joined by CSA Waverly, Dell, Esteem, European Electronique, InTechnology, Intrinsic, Kelway, Softcat and Viglen on the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative's (NOECPC) Provision of IT Infrastructure Hardware and Services deal.
The NOECPC, which was established in 2007, is hosted by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and aims to provide its members with best-value kit by purchasing it as a collective.
The framework – which got up and running at the start of this month – is expected to be worth between £20m and £250m over the course of three years, with the option to extend it for an extra two years.
The deal consists of four lots: server and storage hardware, software and maintenance; network infrastructure hardware and maintenance; IT infrastructure solution design and delivery; and co-location hosting.
Insight and SCC grabbed a spot on all four lots, with Kelway managing to bag a place on three. Softcat, Intrinsic and InTechnology popped up on one lot, with the remainder securing a place on two.
The NOECPC deal marks the second big contract win in a week for Softcat, Insight and Viglen, which won a place on a lucrative schools deal on Monday.
Softcat's public sector frameworks manager Andy Bruen said the NHS is a key market for the reseller.
"We already have hundreds of public sector customers and budgets are always a priority for them," he said.
"We strive to provide cost-effective and cost-saving IT solutions where possible, and this framework makes it even easier for NHS professionals to access desperately needed IT, to mobilise their workforce and facilitate patient treatment."
Esteem's chief executive Joe Connolly said his firm's appearance on the framework proves its commitment to the public sector.
"Having worked with some of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, we've got the experience and expertise needed to deliver cost-effective and innovative IT solutions to the healthcare market," he said.
"This framework is very important to us to be able to demonstrate our expertise and commitment to the NHS."
Insight said being on every lot was important to it.
"It has always been our strategy to offer the most comprehensive range of purchasing options for IT solutions for the health sector; hence our intention to be on all four lots," said its head of public sector Jon Lang.
