Apple to launch iWatch in two weeks - report
Long-awaited wearable device rumoured to coincide with iPhone 6 launch
Apple is preparing to reveal its iWatch device early next month, according to reports, which claim the event will coincide with an iPhone 6 launch.
Tech site Re/code claims that on 9 September, Apple will unveil its first-ever wearable device – rumoured to be called iWatch – along with the next-generation iPhones.
Apple has remained tight-lipped about its wearable tech intentions, but the iWatch is expected to have functions which monitor users' health and fitness as well as carry out household tasks such as turning lights on and off and opening garage doors.
Earlier this week, Canalys claimed that Apple's long-awaited arrival in the wearable space will prompt a flurry of other tech firms to follow suit, after waiting for the tech giant to show its hand first.
