Logicalis takes a bite out of German Wi-Fi outfit

Reseller plans to achieve 'significant market penetration' with new ITUMA buy

Logicalis has acquired a majority share in German Wi-Fi firm ITUMA as it looks to beef up its services offering.

The reseller has snapped up a 51 per cent stake in the Dusseldorf-based firm, which provides businesses and consumers with Wi-Fi-enabled services such as indoor navigation and location services.

Logicalis said it hopes its acquisition, which was finalised for an undisclosed sum, will help it achieve "significant market penetration" in the Wi-Fi services space.

The firm's president Mark Rogers said he had far-reaching plans for the partnership.

"ITUMA's development strategy perfectly complements Logicalis' Cisco Gold Partner relationship, and we intend to leverage this footprint with Cisco across all our operating countries," he said.

Logicalis will distribute its ITUMA offering through its existing global sales structure and expects the move to drive additional infrastructure and managed services revenues.

ITUMA's chief executive Simon Marg said the Logicalis deal was great news.

"I am extremely pleased that ITUMA is now connected to one of the most innovative companies in the enterprise mobility space, and [am] excited about the opportunity of taking the ITUMA story to Logicalis' companies and customers around the world at a time when mobile experiences are becoming critical to so many industry sectors," he said.
