Skyscape adds cloud service to cyber skills sponsorship
Cyber Security Challenge UK benefits from cloud hosting and infrastructure platform
Cloud services provider Skyscape is supplying infrastructure services, including hosting, to a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to boost UK cyber security skills with a range of initiatives, competitions and programmes.
Skyscape is also a Gold-level sponsor of the organisation – Cyber Security Challenge UK – which is supported by donations and assistance from various government departments, tech companies, defence firms, national infrastructure bodies, education institutions, trade associations and law firms.
Stephanie Daman, chief executive of Cyber Security Challenge UK, said Skyscape has already begun delivering the services.
"While it goes without saying that Skyscape's security credentials were very important to us, the agility, capability and capacity of its platform is crucial to the future development of our challenges," Daman said.
Its "highly responsive" service desk was also a positive factor, she added.
Skyscape's platform will host a series of national competitions aimed at identifying, inspiring, and enabling more UK citizens to develop skills in cyber security.
Phil Dawson (pictured), chief executive of Skyscape, said there had been concern about a developing shortage in cyber security skills across the UK.
"From our perspective as a rapidly growing business, we need to recruit and develop the best and brightest talent in the industry in order to continue delivering assured cloud services to our public sector customers – all of whom have considerable data protection requirements," Dawson said.
