Lieberman targets channel expansion in post-Snowden era
US-based firm signs up 30 new channel partners as demand for privileged management grows
Lieberman Software claims the Edward Snowden scandal has driven resellers into its arms after signing up 30 European partners.
Having expanded into Europe last year, the US-based privileged identity management specialist has spent recent months forging partnerships with distributors and VARs on this side of the pond including Exclusive Networks, Bull Information Systems and ZeroDayLab.
According to Lieberman's EMEA channel director Roy Duckles, there has been a rise in organisations looking to secure privileged accounts and control access to sensitive data in the post-Snowden era.
"The Snowden scandal has shown that you can put all the best locks on your door but if you give someone the key, they are away," he said.
"Lieberman's solutions can help organisations manage these privileged identities by automatically identifying privileged accounts throughout the enterprise and auditing access to them."
According to a report by analyst Kuppingercole in January 2014, Lieberman is a clear market leader, but the report ranks CyberArk ahead of Lieberman, and noted "CyberArk has a slightly larger global partner ecosystem".
Duckles said: "It has not been a problem to recruit partners and most of those partners have come to us. We got a call from HP this morning and a main reason why we have been successful in recruitment is [that] we don't compete with our partners."
