Yorkshire's Razorblue expands on back of managed services
Northern managed services, hosting provider and consultancy looks to European expansion
Catterick services provider Razorblue has won another £2m-worth of contracts en route to expand by another 50 per cent in 2014.
Chris Gill, commercial director of Razorblue, said the firm is also adding jobs for sales and technical professionals across its Catterick, Leeds, Newcastle and York offices.
"In the past year we have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds in our business and that has not only allowed us to grow, but has led to us securing some major contracts," Gill said.
Revenue rose 40 per cent in the past year, and the firm – which specialises in consultancy, hosted offerings, connectivity, and managed IT services for SMBs, business parks, and the public sector– expects to increase in size by another 50 per cent this year. It has already added five staff, making up the headcount to a total of 30, with another five roles to be created by the end of this year, according to a statement.
Razorblue is also planning to open a fifth office in Teesside; it has already doubled its office space in Leeds by moving out of the city centre to Yeadon, near the airport.
Dan Kitchen, founder and technical director of eight-year-old Razorblue, said: "We're growing faster than we anticipated – thanks to the fantastic, multi-skilled team we have and the sophisticated technology that we have invested in and developed."
Recent signings include a bespoke software deal with Dublin-based Furlong Flooring as well as the likes of athletic equipment retailer Sports Direct. The firm is looking to expand Europe-wide, Kitchen said.
