Autotask lunges for CentraStage
Software management vendor says no jobs will be affected by acquisition
Autotask says its acquisition of SaaS solution provider for end-point management, CentraStage, is a "natural expansion" for the software management vendor.
The purchase, for an undisclosed sum, comes three months after Autotask itself was acquired by Vista Equity Partners.
Autotask chief executive Mark Cattini said the acquisition will see the CentraStage brand integrated into the Autotask brand, but its management team will still maintain its autonomy. The duo have been partners since 2011.
Patrick Burns, vice president of product management at Autotask, reassured staff that "not a single job will be affected by this transaction".
"A lot of talented people had to do with getting both businesses to where they are and we are going to have a rational approach to combining them," Burns said.
Autotask's technology is aimed at IT service providers and includes CRM, billing, helpdesk, ticketing, resource utilisation and project management products which can be tailored to customers' needs.
CentraStage chief executive Christian Nagele said there is "clear overlap in vision and in culture" between the two companies, but claimed there is little crossover in technology.
