Second round of Microsoft cuts coming tomorrow - reports

Sources claim staff from across the company will be told tomorrow

A second round of job cuts is set to hit Microsoft tomorrow, according to reports, which claim most divisions of the software giant will be touched by the move.

Back in July after its Worldwide Partner Conference event, Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella announced 18,000 job cuts were coming over the next six months, with the majority from its newly acquired Nokia arm.

ZDnet claims 13,000 employees were told they were going in the first wave of cuts in July, but that the second round is due tomorrow.

It remains unclear how many staff are expected to be cut, but ZDnet claims people across almost every division will be affected.

Microsoft was unavailable to comment, but when Nadella first announced the cuts in the summer he said it was for the good of the company.

He claimed the cuts were the "first step to building the right organisations for our ambitions".
