Dell broadens UK distribution reach with Ingram deal

Days after signing similar deal in Germany, vendor expands partnership with Ingram Micro in the UK to cover its complete end-to-end portfolio

Distribution giant Ingram Micro has broadened its partnership with Dell in the UK to cover its complete end-to-end portfolio of hardware, software and services to its reseller base.

The deal, effective from 3 October, will cover Dell’s entire product set, spanning Dell client solutions, Dell enterprise solutions and Dell Software.

It follows a similar deal with the distributor in Germany, which Michael Dell himself mentioned during a channel session at the vendor's EMEA Solutions Summit in Brussels last week.

Our customers get access to a range of products from one of the world’s top three manufacturers and transacting with Dell is made much easier for them.

"While Dell is already well established in the channel, we can help enable the brand’s penetration in the UK and support the way it services the channel." He added that the deal puts Ingram in an enviable position.

“To ensure all opportunities for channel growth are maximised, we have invested in additional support and made realignments in our business. The benefits of our expertise and capabilities can then be realised by our customers in the growth of their Dell business across the whole spectrum of B2B from SMB to corporate.”

Steve Holmes, channel director at Dell UK, added: “The channel has never been more important to Dell. We have been growing our channel business strongly over the past seven years and this partnership with Ingram Micro will give our customers greater access to products and services and ultimately make it easier to do business with Dell.”
