Croxford unveiled as new UK channel chief at VMware
Phil Croxford will replace Ed Dolman, who stood down from role in April
VMware has appointed Phil Croxford as its channel chief for the UK and Ireland.
Croxford replaces Ed Dolman, who moved into a role as senior manager of enterprise sales in April. In his new role, Croxford, who assumes the title of director of VMware's UK and Ireland partner organisation, will be responsible for all aspects of the vendor's UK and Ireland partner programmes.
Croxford (pictured) said: "VMware has a reputation as one of the most innovative and exciting businesses in the enterprise software industry. It is widely known for its commitment and investment in its partner programmes, something that I am very excited to now be a part of."
David Parry Jones, vice president of VMware, added: "Phil has a wealth of experience working within established partner communities such as our own. This puts him in a very strong position to take on this challenge and ensure that we are closely aligned with our partners while providing business growth opportunities across the channel.
The new channel boss has joined VMware from SAP, where he held the position of head of alliances. Before that, Croxford held a variety of industry roles, including a 15-year spell at Oracle.
In a statement sent to CRN by SAP, the software vendor claimed it is still looking for Croxford's replacement and will make an announcement in "due course".
