Microsoft rolls out new Office 365 plans for SMBs

New plans allow for more flexibility with the Microsoft software

Microsoft has unveiled new Office 365 plans for small and mid-sized businesses which it says will allow for more flexibility, with the ability to mix and match plans for specific needs.

According to the official Microsoft Blog, the new plans will also provide more value as they offer additional services such as Yammer for social networking within a company.

The blog post says these changes are designed for businesses with between one and 250 employees.

The new plans are:

Office 365 Business ($8.25 per month per user, per month)
Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Publisher, with 1TB of OneDrive for Business cloud storage

Office 365 Business Essentials ($5 per month per user, per month)
Core cloud-based business services, including email and calendaring, Office Online, online meetings, IM, videoconferencing, cloud storage, and file sharing

Office 365 Business Premium ($12.50 per month per user, per month)
A wrap of the Office 365 Business and Business Essentials plans

The new plans replace the old Small Business, Small Business Premium and Midsize Business plans respectively.

According to the blog, Microsoft made the changes in response to feedback from its customers.
