Synergi's in Scotland on fresh SharePoint drive
Microsoft partner hires Glasgow's Rod Fraser to spearhead Scottish move
Budding Tyneside reseller Synergi IT is expanding into Scotland with a focus on legacy and new SharePoint deals.
Justin Short, director of year-old Gateshead-based provider Synergi IT, said the Microsoft partner had created a SharePoint division which is growing rapidly and sees a range of opportunities north of the border.
"Many companies north and south of the borders have legacy versions of SharePoint that need bringing up to date, while lots of small businesses are being introduced to the software via Microsoft's Office 365. We see Scotland as an exciting market for the continued growth at Synergi," Short said in the company's announcement.
Short has hired a Microsoft solutions consultant with about 20 years of technical experience – Glaswegian Rod Fraser – to spearhead the drive to win new business in Scotland. Fraser and Short have worked together in the past, he said.
"I'm delighted to be joining Synergi and I'm pleased to be working with Justin (Short) again at an exciting period in the company's growth," Fraser said.
"It is particularly thrilling to be spearheading the drive into Scotland, which is also going through an exciting time, both politically and economically."
Fraser also has experience in target sectors including oil and gas, transport, renewables, and local government, the announcement said.
Synergi is expecting to hit a £500,000 sales target this year, and reach £2m in three years. Further recruitment is also under way, it said.
