Millgate opens the doors to nine new sales stars
Yorkshire VAR cuts the ribbon on its first sales academy
Reseller Millgate is preparing to welcome nine new recruits as it launches its first-ever sales academy.
From the start of next month, nine new staff will join the Sheffield firm as it kicks off the new project.
The new starters – chosen from a group of 80 hopefuls who applied for the roles – will be trained for six months in various sales skills such as account management, as well as taught all about the products the company sells.
The reseller said the project, which was launched in conjunction with local radio stations, could become a regular fixture in its recruitment calendar.
Candidates from a range of professional backgrounds applied for the roles, which Millgate's sales director Chris Headon said was great news.
"From my experience, the salespeople from different industries we have recruited have been more successful than the ones recruited from other IT companies," he said. "It's this experience and knowledge that gave me the inspiration to create our very own academy."
