Avnet cuts ribbon on new HQ
Distribution giant is still headquartered in Bracknell, but new building offers more space to grow
Avnet is celebrating its move to a swanky new office just down the road from its old one in Bracknell.
The distribution behemoth has taken one third of the 17,000 square metre facility known as the Capitol Building, which has been refurbished to Avnet's specifications.
Avnet claims that the building's strong links to the major road and rail network in the Thames Valley, as well as close connections with Heathrow and Gatwick, will make life easier for its suppliers, business partners and their respective customers.
The new premises have more meeting rooms, more parking and capacity to host special events and seminars, as well as increased office space.
Miriam Murphy (pictured), senior vice president, North region, Avnet TS EMEA, said: "The building is impressive and reflects our status as a leading IT solutions distributor. By providing our suppliers and business partners with access to highly functional and well-presented facilities we are underlining our commitment to working with all our partners to help them grow.
"Set in eight acres of green space yet just a few minutes’ walk from local amenities, it is a pleasant and inspiring workplace, which we are confident will help to continue to attract some of the best talent in the industry.”
As part of the move, Avnet has upgraded its demonstration facilities where business partners and customers can test the latest technology solutions using real-life scenarios, but in a risk-free environment.
