Hungry Planet Hippo eats up i4 Visual Media
Network Selector business unit eyes further acquisitions in future
Planet Hippo has today announced it has gobbled up i4 Visual Media's hosted services business and has insisted it could be hungry for more buys soon.
Web-hosting firm Planet Hippo is part of the newly formed Network Selector Group, which was recently set up by serial channel entrepreneur Mike Harris.
Essex-based i4 is a provider of web-design services and will immediately migrate all domains to Planet Hippo's servers, it said.
Darren Lavender, managing director of Planet Hippo, said: "This is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions that will enable Planet Hippo to further expand its reach across the UK.
"We are making further significant investments in new datacentres to ensure that we maintain our position at the front line of the developing cloud-based hosting market and expect to make further acquisitions over the coming months."
Grant Horsfall, managing director of i4, said the move will be good for his customers.
"This deal with Planet Hippo will allow us to focus on the delivery of high-quality web-design solutions and ensure our customers have a reliable and resilient hosting service for their web operations," he said.
