Adept4 hails apprentice scheme success

Reseller makes three promotions and two new appointments

Reseller Adept4 has talked up the success of its apprenticeship scheme as it unveils the promotion of a number of former school leavers.

The firm, which has offices in Daresbury, Aberdeen and London, has promoted two members of staff internally and made three new appointments at various levels across the company.

Amy Blackmore, who joined as an apprentice in 2012, has been promoted to second-line service desk analyst, along with Paul Braithwaite who joined the firm earlier this year.

The company has also recruited Jane Moran as its new service operations manager. She joins Adept4 from IT services company Remsdaq.

The reseller has also recruited Paul Platt as a service transition technical consultant and Jordan Wynne, aged 16, who joins as an apprentice.

Peter Birkett, Adept4's chief executive, said: "At present, there is a palpable skills gap in the market and hiring and retaining staff with knowledge in the sector as well as extensive customer service skills can prove a challenge.

"We work hard to find incredibly skilled IT specialists who can then progress within the company as their unique skill set is nurtured and developed."
