Esteem wins place on £1m supercomputing framework

Northern MSP teams up with University of Leeds

Yorkshire-based managed services provider Esteem Systems has won a place on a £1m supercomputing framework with the University of Leeds.

The High Performance Computing (HPC) project will last for four years and will see the firm deliver HPC services to the institution, which will use the kit mainly for research purposes.

The duo has worked together on HPC in the past and its chief executive Joe Connolly said continuing the partnership was important.

"It was important that we retained our place on [the framework] so we could bid for any future business, so we are happy about that," he said.

"For us at Esteem it has been a good period – most of our business is now coming from managed services and 55 per cent of our revenue now comes from contracted business which has changed the profile of our business."

The framework news follows a number of successes for the MSP – it was chosen as a delivery partner on a new NHS IT procurement framework and it also made it on to the shortlist for Lot One of the Technology Products framework in September.

Last week Esteem agreed a refinancing deal with Lloyds Bank's acquisition finance and mid-market team.

Esteem was the only partner to be chosen for the HPC framework.
