Computacenter wins deal to deliver Post Office's IT
VAR giant cashes in on end-user computing deal
Computacenter has struck a deal with the Post Office to supply it with a range of end-user IT kit.
As part of the Post Office IT and Change Transformation Programme End User Computing contract, the reseller behemoth will deliver a range of hardware products to the organisation as well as printing services and document-creation software, IT services, software and support services.
The reseller will set up new IT kit within the Post Office – which has more than 11,000 branches across the UK – and take care of its existing estate, according to a recent contract-award notice.
Neither Computacenter or the Post Office were able to disclose the value of the deal, or details of how long it will last, as part of their agreement.
Computacenter beat off bids from two other suppliers vying for the contract, and was selected based mainly on its "solution and service management", with implementation and commercial and risk considerations also being taken into account.
