Egress aims to double partner base in next 12 months

Data security provider hopes to secure 30 new channel partners

Data security provider Egress is aiming to double its partner numbers in the next year as it looks to the corporate sector for growth.

The vendor, which specialises in cloud-based encryption services, said it plans to bring on 30 new partners over the next six to 12 months.

Egress, which operates exclusively via the channel, has launched its new partner recruitment drive on the back of its success in the past year, in which sales rocketed 80 per cent annually.

Kelly McCann, UK sales manager at Egress, said in the past the firm has predominantly sold to the public sector, but its recent growth has been driven by corporate accounts.

"In the past 12 to 18 months we have seen a massive increase in the number of corporate enterprise accounts and we are now breaking into that market.

"That is where channel partners wake up a little bit and say this isn't going to be a £10,000 order or a £50,000 order, this business on our books is going to be worth £200,000 or even £500,000 in terms of revenue, and that's where it gets quite interesting," she said.

As part of Egress' new channel partner programme the company is launching a partner portal that will give partners access to certain marketing materials on top of its current deal registration offering.

For its current financial year McCann said Egress is on target to turn over £4.5m and it currently has 27 channel partners.
