Jigsaw adds piece to puzzle with Matrix acquisition

Apple reseller acquires Knutsford-based Matrix for undisclosed sum

Jigsaw24 has completed its second acquisition in six months, snapping up Knutsford-based Matrix Software Development Limited.

Nottingham-based Jigsaw, one of the country's largest Apple resellers, acquired Matrix for an undisclosed sum.

The news of the acquisition follows the firm's recent opening of a flagship customer-experience centre in Soho.

Martin Balaam, Jigsaw's chief executive, said: "Matrix is a perfect fit for Jigsaw, with a software product that sits well with Adobe and Apple, and complements our existing range of services and our creative customer base.

"Furthermore, with the support of Jigsaw's sales and marketing team we are confident that future sales of Matrix's software can be significantly enhanced," he added.

Matrix provides data management software applications that integrate product management and publishing software solutions.

The transaction follows Jigsaw's purchase of B2B reseller Square Group in June this year, which pushed its group turnover to more than £80m.

Nick Speakman, managing director of Matrix, said: "We are extremely pleased to be joining the Jigsaw24 Group and are looking forward to working together with Martin and the team to grow the business further and take Matrix to the next stage of its development."
