The only way is Wales for ITS Technology Group

Managed services provider snaps up assets of Welsh broadband firm Xwavia Limited

Acquisition-hungry ITS Technology Group has made its third purchase of the year in the form of Welsh broadband firm Xwavia Limited.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, adds to its earlier acquisitions of East Manchester network CityServe in June and South Yorkshire-based Networks by Wireless in September, and also doubles the number of customers it has connected to its broadband network.

ITS claims the deal will strengthen its proposition to provide broadband in hard to reach areas across the UK.

As a result of the deal, ITS will own and extend the significant fibre and wireless network footprint which connects residential areas and businesses in hard to reach areas of Wales, including Anglesey, Conway and Powys.

It will also take on all customer contracts and keep 12 technical and operational staff from Xwavia on board. And it will also adopt the Xwavia brand and keep the office open that is established in Welshpool.

Roy Shelton, founder of ITS Technology Group said: “We have made three strategic acquisitions this year in order to strengthen our proposition as a leading broadband provider to those areas that are overlooked by the big players.

“Xwavia has successfully delivered broadband to areas of Wales that aren’t even served by mains gas, electricity or water. Its methods of providing broadband will benefit and play a much wider role across ITS’ customer base and projects. The acquisition will protect the assets already built, as well as the commitment to fulfil all Xwavia’s contracts, means that the future of superfast broadband in Wales is in safe hands.”
