Ingram Micro's credit team celebrates accolade
Distribution giant's credit team is one of only two UK teams to secure a coveted quality assurance badge
Celebrations are rife at Ingram Micro after its credit team became only the second in the country to secure the Quality in Credit Management (QICM) accreditation from the Institute of Credit Management (ICM).
As a result, the firm claims the benchmark signifies the highest possible level of service for its customers.
Tony McMurray, financial director at Ingram, said: “I’m delighted at the effort our highly qualified and experienced credit team, led by Peter Whitmore, has put into the accreditation process, and proud to be the first Ingram Micro country, not only regionally but also globally, to have achieved this mark of credit management excellence.
“To have gained this official standard from a governing body with the heritage of ICM, which has also recently received royal ascent to become chartered, allows us to provide additional value and best practice to our customers and the assurance that every credit dealing they have with us is subject to measuring and testing to ensure the highest possible level of service to our customers,” he added.
Philip King, chief executive of ICM, said: “Achieving this mark of quality is not about ticking boxes and it’s about way more than mere compliance. Ingram Micro’s approach of 100 per cent customer focus is the encapsulation of how it should be done – the whole business understanding just how they can contribute to customer satisfaction and supporting continuous improvement throughout the business.
“Ingram Micro has defined what good looks like in its credit management practices and I’m very pleased to award this quality standard which recognises best-of-breed achievement, innovation and best practice in credit management.”
