Telindus UK name scrapped

Completion of acquisition by Telent will see firm rebranded with immediate effect

Telindus UK’s new owner is ditching the name and rebranding the firm as Telent with immediate effect.

The deal between Telent and previous Telindus owner Belgacom, which has been finalised today, was initially mooted earlier this month for an undisclosed sum.

In a statement on the Telent website, the telecoms specialist said: “The acquired business, based at Camberley, will be renamed Telent with immediate effect, and contributes an annual turnover of over £45m.”

At the time Marek Lowther, managing director of Telindus UK, said the deal will allow the networking, security, datacentre and infrastructure services specialist to reach more customers.

“The combination with Telent will provide us with additional scale to address the UK market,” he said.

And Telent chief executive Mark Plato said at the time that the deal will “take Telent to another level” and offers a “step-change in our core expertise and capabilities with key industry partners”.
