Infinigate chosen to put more "feet on the street" for Radware
Infinigate chosen by Radware because of its technical expertise in the security field
Security VAD Infinigate has been appointed as a new distribution partner by Radware, as the vendor looks to put more channel "feet on the street" in the UK.
Radware specialises in providing application delivery and application security and has two other distribution partners in the UK- Arrow ECS and Westcon.
When asked if Radware would be jettisoning either of its existing distributors following the appointment of Infinigate, Adrian Crawley, regional director for Radware UK and Ireland commented "we are reviewing and evaluating the situation and will make a decision shortly".
Crawley said that it was Infinigate's technical expertise that made it a natural choice of distribution partner.
"I wanted to bring someone on board who was really highly skilled in security, which had a big presence across EMEA but could also bring more feet to the street in the UK with expertise in the field to support our channel community.
"So pretty simply Infinigate was top of our list in order to drive the market place and support our channel base."
Crawley did not reveal a specific number of channel partners Radware would like to bring on, but said it was looking for "quality over quantity".
"We are going to make sure we are choosing partners who are dynamic in this field. It's less about numbers but more about the quality side. There will be a good mix of partners we are going to be working with, some from systems integrators and larger service providers, all the way through to more niche security experts," he said.
Alex Teh (pictured right), joint managing director of Infinigate UK said Radware's unique security portfolio was critical to his firm's decision to partner with it.
"The common request I have been getting from partners is a complete portfolio of cybercrime technologies to take to customers. So having a portfolio like Radware's, where it has a cloud-based distributed denial of service (DDoS), on site DDoS and web application firewalls, all in one portfolio, was a key reason why we decided to partner with Radware," he said.
From today Infinigate's UK channel partners will have access to marketing materials on its partner portal to aid in selling and supporting Radware products.
In 2012 Infinigate bought a majority stake in distie Vigil before the company was united within the Infinigate brand.
