Google and Avaya team up in contact centre partnership

The two firms hope to provide more efficient and faster access to contact centre technology for users

Google has today announced an alliance with Avaya to work together on contact centre solutions for enterprises.

The pair are set to merge Avaya's experience in comms technologies with Google's background in web applications and Chromebooks to "enable greater simplicity, flexibility and cost efficiency" in contact centres.

With the new partnership, users will be able to access the Avaya contact centre software with Chromebooks via a WebRTC-enabled interface, according to a press statement.

Joe Manuele, vice president at Avaya, said: "Contact centres are highly dynamic, business-critical, functional areas. The flexibility to quickly and cost-effectively equip customer service representatives during peak periods such as the holiday seasons, new product launches and marketing campaigns can make a significant difference in capturing revenue and improving customer satisfaction."

The news of the alliance between Google and HP comes after Avaya formed a partnership with HP in August.
