Phoenix rises to Redmayne-Bentley contract
Three-year managed services deal with UK stockbroker and fund manager
Services provider Phoenix IT has clinched a deal to extend its provision of managed IT and services to large UK stockbroker Redmayne-Bentley.
Steve Vaughan, chief executive officer at Phoenix IT, said the three-year deal with existing customer Redmayne-Bentley would involve full outsourcing via managed private cloud services across some 38 offices.
"We can help all types of financial service organisation safeguard data accessing scalable and cost-efficient IT infrastructure offered through hosting and cloud services," Vaughan said.
Secure hosting will include remote desktop access incorporating managed applications, email and Active Directory services, he said, as well as a dedicated service desk and service delivery management, branch support, software asset management and business continuity.
Leeds-headquartered Redmayne-Bentley – founded in 1875 – has been a private-cloud customer of Phoenix's since 2009, he said. It won City of London Stockbroker of the Year 2014 in March and Best Full Service Stockbroker at an FT awards event in November.
Keith Loudon, senior partner at Redmayne-Bentley, said in a related statement: "On 5 December, Redmayne-Bentley enters its 140th year of serving private investors.
"The stockbroking industry has seen the emergence of many no-frills and low-cost services, though many people still value and want more from their stockbroker."
