Extreme Networks pinches Cisco man for top channel job
Bob Gault joins to help firm's 2,500 partners into the cloud
Extreme Networks has snatched Cisco's former cloud and managed services boss Bob Gault to lead its global channel business.
Gault, who has more than 25 years' experience in the channel, will build the firm's channel partner programme in his new role of vice president of global channels and partners, and also work out how the programme can further contribute to growth and innovation at the company.
The firm claims Gault will think up programmes that help partners cash in on "emerging profit pools".
He replaces Extreme's Theresa Caragol, who moves into the role of vice president of strategic initiatives, where the company claims she will continue to support the firm's 2,500 channel partners.
Extreme's chief revenue officer Jeff White said: "Extreme has achieved a tremendous position with its channel partners during the past two years under Theresa's leadership, having successfully integrated the channel programmes of two companies into a strong global channel partner ecosystem.
"With his unique skills and experience, Bob will further build our channel programme into a strategic asset for Extreme Networks and our partners to achieve growth."
