Tim Cook's pay doubles after stellar year for Apple
Apple's chief exec took home a whopping $9.22m last year
Tim Cook's total pay package more than doubled last year, with the Apple chief executive taking home a total of $9.22m (£6.15m).
His salary increased to $1.75m in 2014, up from $1.4m in the previous year, and he took home another $6.7m in non-equity incentive-plan compensation, according to a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Cook (pictured) took the top job in August 2011, replacing the late Steve Jobs.
Luca Maestri, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Apple, took home more than Cook last year, with his total package coming to $14m. Of that sum, just $717,000 came from his salary, with the vast majority of the remainder made up of stock awards.
Eddy Cue, senior vice president for internet software and sales and Jeff Williams, senior vice president for operations, also enjoyed a bumper pay packet in 2014, with the pair each taking home $24.4m after each receiving $20m in stock awards. In 2013 the duo earned $2.65m and $2.63m respectively.
Cook's pay rise comes as Apple enjoyed a stellar 2014, with its shares jumping to a record high of $119.75 in November, giving it a market capitalisation of more than $700bn.
