Daisy snaps up Damovo in enterprise push
Daisy kicks off 2015 with acquisition of comms VAR Damovo
Daisy is looking to boost its presence in the enterprise space with the acquisition of comms VAR Damovo, which was announced today.
The deal, which closed for an undisclosed amount, will see Daisy take over the West Sussex-based VAR, which is partnered with Cisco, Mitel and Microsoft, and has a portfolio which comprises cloud and managed services as well as unified communications.
Last week, Daisy was delisted from the stock exchange after a deal to take it private – led by its chief executive Matthew Riley and an investor duo – was finalised.
Riley said the Damovo buy is a great fit for Daisy.
"This is the first acquisition we have undertaken since Daisy's privatisation and enhances our capability in the enterprise space. With strong vendor relationships and an expert team in place, the business is well positioned for growth under our ownership.
"The converging world of traditional telecoms and IT continues to present exciting opportunities and with a rapidly expanding cloud and managed services division, the acquisition of this highly scalable UK business is a clear strategic fit for the group," he added.
Damovo's UK managing director, Simon Payne, said he was excited by the prospect of the change in ownership.
"I see this change in ownership as an exciting landmark in our own evolution and it brings with it new opportunities for our people and our customers," he commented.
"With a focus on developing their enterprise business through managed services, the acquisition of Damovo means we are a good fit strategically. Under Daisy's ownership we will further evolve our business and growth in the market," he said.
Damovo delivers services to more than 250 customers, including organisations in aviation, transportation and government.
The news of the acquisition comes after Daisy outlined its ambitions to build a £100m channel services business.
In December it was announced that Neil Muller, formerly at Computacenter, was stepping into a new role at Daisy as chief executive in February, with founder Riley moving to the post of executive chairman.
