Security VADs unveil new signings

VCW, Alpha Generation and e92plus sign new vendors

Security VADs e92plus, Alpha Generation Distribution and VCW Security are all on the hunt for resellers to take on their latest vendor signings.

While e92plus has paired up with WiFi player Global Reach Technology, Alpha Generation has signed privileged password management specialist Thycotic and VCW Security has inked a partnership with end-point security protagonist Comodo.

E92plus' latest ally, Global Reach, built the platform that runs the WiFi on London Underground and the city-wide public WiFi service in San Francisco and San Jose.

Its cloud-based guest wireless platform is designed to deliver management and analytics that can give insight into customer behaviour and profiling, as well as integration into marketing.

"It is the next step up around the opportunity in WiFi and how you deliver a service on top of that," said Neil Langridge, marketing manager at e92plus.

"If resellers want to offer it as a fully managed service, they can."

Meanwhile, Alpha Generation's latest signing, Thycotic, promises to make privileged account password and Active Directory management more straightforward, without compromising compliance, said Alpha Generation sales director Chris Walsh.

Washington DC-based Thycotic had already secured several wins in the channel without a direct presence, Walsh said.

"After an extremely successful 2014, the time was right to expand our footprint within the UK channel community," added Ryan Compagnone, channel sales manager at Thycotic.

Finally, VCW claims its latest signing, Comodo, is shaking up an anti-virus space that has seen little innovation in recent years.

VCW is carrying Comodo's range of end-point security products, including its end-point security management, anti-spam, UTM and MDM offerings.

Comodo's fully automatic sandbox isolation technology is designed to proactively protect against zero-day attacks, which it claims marks it out from traditional detection-based anti-virus techniques.

"Comodo represents an opportunity for our valued partner network to offer a set of products that are genuinely innovative in the antivirus market – a market with virtually no innovation in the past years," said VCW commercial director Simon Jackson.
