SCC and Softcat among VARs picked for £50m AV deal
Fifteen resellers picked for two-year Welsh universities deal
SCC, Softcat and Computacenter have each won a place on a Welsh education framework worth up to £50m, along with more than 10 other resellers.
The Higher Education Purchasing Consortium for Wales (HEPCW) awarded 15 resellers a spot on its Audio Visual Products and Services framework which could be worth up to £50m excluding VAT over its two-year lifespan.
The successful resellers were: Comcen Computer Supplies, Computacenter, Computerworld Wales, GV Multimedia, IDN Supplies, Millennium Business Systems, Proav, Relfex Limited, Roche Audio Visual, SCC, Snelling Business Systems, Softcat, The Saville Group, Vaughan Sound Installations and Video South.
The tender is split into three lots: AV products and services – supply only; AV products and services – supply and fit; and AV products and services – design, supply and install; onto which Cdec, Roche Audio Visual and The Saville Group were all awarded a place.
Softcat popped up on Lot 2, while Computacenter and SCC won a place on Lots 2 and 3.
SCC described its place on the framework as "a landmark award" for the firm as it is the first time it has appeared on an AV framework in the education space.
The reseller's sales manager for AV Mark Williams said:
"Our AV business has seen tremendous success in recent years, particularly in the commercial sector for customers including Thomson, TalkTalk and the BBC, but also in the public sector for Belfast Metropolitan College and High School of Dundee, among others.
"This award puts us on the higher and further education map as a credible partner for AV solutions and we're excited by the projects."
