IT supplier trio sought for £190m Met Police megadeal
Selected resellers to supply kit for about 55,000 staff within the force
The Metropolitan Police is seeking three IT resellers to supply kit for 55,000 of its staff as it continues its IT overhaul plans.
In a recently published tender document for its TTPI (Total Technology Policing Infrastructure) End User Services (EUS) deal, the force said it is searching for firms that can supply it with a wide range of IT equipment such as desktops, laptops and tablets, servers, accessories, storage, email, printing kit and phones.
The contract will run for an initial five-year period, with options in place to extend it for a further two years.
Over the course of its life, its value is pegged somewhere between £70m and £190m.
Last year, the Met tendered for a TTPI SIAM Services deal, worth up to £150m, as part of its Total Technology Strategy. The plan was drawn up after the Met came under fire from the London Assembly, which said its outdated IT was a factor in the capital's increasing crime rate.
