Former Websense duo land at Appsense
Atif Ahmed and Zoe Clarke join EMEA team of workspace management vendor
Workspace management vendor Appsense has confirmed that Websense executives Atif Ahmed and Zoe Clarke have joined its European management team.
Before Websense, Ahmed and Clarke both worked for Check Point and their arrival at Appsense reunites them with former Check Point Europe boss Nick Lowe, who joined Appsense in 2012 as vice president of EMEA sales.
Ahmed joins as vice president of northern Europe while Clarke has been appointed as channel sales director of northern Europe, with both roles encompassing the UK, Ireland and the Nordics.
Talking to CRN, Ahmed said the duo's pedigree in the channel is a reflection of Appsense's wider ambitions.
"I joined Appsense because they are going through a transition in their approach," he said. "Zoe and I both come from a strong channel background and the channel is key to Appsense's business and their intention is to invest and build strong channel relationships."
Appsense recently launched a new partner programme, crowning Computacenter, Kelway and Ultima as its first three Platinum partners.
"We've invested a lot of time making the right changes and now it's about improving collaboration of planning and making sure we have clearly defined plans with partners and addressing the verticals we are strong in. The other thing is joint pipeline generation," Ahmed said.
"It's more about complementing what we have than changing anything."
Although Appsense is known for its virtualisation prowess, Ahmed said its focus has broadened.
"What's really important is our vision around delivering a simplified user experience, irrespective of whether the platform is virtualised or desktop," he said.
