Microsoft Opens up Enterprise Mobility Suite

Microsoft makes suite available on Open licensing and hands Internal Use Rights to top-level partners

Microsoft has made its Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) available on Open Licensing in a move it claims will help push the cloud out to customers.

The EMS – which was unveiled a year ago – is a combination of its Intune, Azure Active Directory Premium and Azure Rights Management Services products. The trio was combined in a bid to help businesses manage user-access rights and devices from the cloud.

From now on, the suite is available on the vendor's Open Licensing Programme, which it claims will help lure customers into the cloud. The suite is priced per seat and is now available on the Open Commercial, Government and Education programmes.

"The availability of EMS on Open Licensing provides the opportunity to offer cloud solutions with a low barrier to entry, and the opportunity to add more value as you engage with your customers," Microsoft said.

On top of this, from the start of this month, subscribers to the Microsoft Action Pack – which gives small resellers access to the firm's software – as well as Silver and Gold competency partners, will be granted EMS Internal Use Rights.

"This will help you run your internal business, demo EMS to your customers, and perform internal development and testing," Microsoft said. "We encourage you to leverage the ModernBiz Business Anywhere sales and marketing materials to help you engage with your customers."
