Tech Data bags place on Microsoft CSP programme

Distributor signs up to tier two of the scheme, which it says now completes its Microsoft portfolio

Tech Data Europe has announced it has been selected for Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme in the UK.

The CSP programme was unveiled at Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference last July, and the scheme allows partners to directly provision customer subscriptions and deliver one monthly bill for Microsoft services and their own.

Tech Data will be on tier two of the CSP programme, which it said completes its Microsoft offering to partners.

Reza Honarmand, vice president for software and cloud at Tech Data Europe, said the move was a significant step for Tech Data.

"This is an important breakthrough for Tech Data and our resellers. Our mission is to enable our reseller partners to offer their customers the best products, services and support needed through the whole life cycle," he said.

"The CSP programme, coupled with the strengths of our StreamOne platform, is a real winning combination and means we are delivering on our stated mission more effectively than ever before."

Tech Data's StreamOne cloud platform, which is available in the UK, France and Sweden, will be integrated into the CSP programme. Partners in other European countries will have access to this service under a wider rollout Tech Data expects to complete by the end of April.

Tech Data's induction comes after Westcoast became the first UK distie to announce it had signed up to the scheme last month.

Other CSP partners include Outsourcery, whose shares shot up by 60 per cent after it signed up to the programme in November.
