Channel duo among best SMBs to work for
JMC and Risual pop up in Sunday Times rankings
Reseller JMC and IT consultancy Risual have been ranked among the country's best small companies to work for thanks to their charity work and focus on staff development.
Stafford-based Risual ranked 32nd on the Sunday Times' Best Small Companies To Work For list, which was published yesterday, while Manchester VAR JMC came close behind in 34th place.
A total of 579 companies applied to be part of the league table – which is based on anonymous staff feedback – and the top 100 were selected.
Risual, which has recently almost doubled its staff to 93, was selected after 87 per cent of its employees reported "a good buzz" in the office and a "strong sense of family" in its teams.
The company's charitable giving also helped boost its position on the leader board – last year it gave £20,000 to good causes, half of which was raised by staff.
JMC made the Sunday Times' league table for the 11th year in a row thanks to its efforts to boost staff morale through sporting and charitable activities.
The average time staff work at JMC is 12 years, which the firm claims is "almost unheard of" in the tech industry. It claims the statistic proves there is a strong sense of job security among its employees.
Andrew Burgess, JMC's managing director, said: "This fantastic news is a reflection of our continued investment and total dedication from everyone at JMC to create a great working environment.
"Earning a place on the list for an unprecedented 11th consecutive year takes a huge team effort and we're extremely proud that all our employees' hard work is paying off. Most importantly, our clients truly recognise the value of working with our happy and motivated staff, as the level of service they receive in turn ensures they love working with us.
"We've achieved unprecedented success so far this year and we're looking to build on this even further throughout 2015."
