EMC picks Petter replacement to lead UK unit

Former EMC EMEA global alliances boss Ross Fraser takes top UK job

EMC has chosen company veteran Ross Fraser to take over the top job in the UK after his predecessor defected to Pure Storage.

As CRN revealed, James Petter left EMC for its arch rival Pure Storage in January. Fraser has now taken over as vice president and country manager for the UK and Ireland.

Prior to his new appointment, he was EMC's EMEA vice president of global alliances. He has been at EMC for 16 years after joining from Data General and will report to Adrian McDonald, EMC's president for EMEA.

In his new role, he will be charged with driving revenue, management and business strategy for the region he covers.

McDonald said: "Having worked with Ross for many years, I know that he will lead EMC's efforts in the UK and Ireland incredibly effectively, set [a] clear vision for the region, and bring his own unique experience to bear.

"As EMC builds upon its focus on innovation in service delivery and product agility, the IT market in the UK and Ireland continues opening up for EMC, thereby creating ambitious business goals."
