Mayflex breaks £100m sales barrier

Distributor appoints supply-chain director as it breaches 'magic' revenue marker for first time

Distributor Mayflex claims it has shattered the £100m annual sales barrier for the first time, with weeks to spare before the end of its financial year.

The news comes as the cabling, networking and electronic security solutions specialist announced it has appointed Andy Cooper to the post of supply chain director.

Based in Birmingham and with an operation in Dubai, Mayflex works with vendors including Aruba Networks, RF Code, Extreme Networks and APC.

Mayflex managing director Andrew Percival said the distributor had broken through the "magic" nine-figure revenue barrier with three weeks of its trading year to go, following another year of growth in the high teens.

"I would like to thank our customer and vendor partners for their ongoing support, and of course the fantastic team we have at Mayflex for the hard work, loyalty and commitment they give day in, day out," Percival added.

"We continue to look forwards and set ourselves further growth and improvement challenges."

Of Cooper's arrival, Percival said: "At the heart of every strong distributor is first-class supply-chain service and support. We intend to lead the market in this area with investment in quality team members, systems and facilities. Andy's experience in strategic planning, operational improvement and cost management will be key ingredients to us achieving this objective."
