Ramsac gives hospice group a network boost
VAR wins hard-bought tender to provide network management and IT support to Surrey-based group
Surrey-based charity Woking & Sam Beare Hospices (WSBH) has selected local VAR ramsac to provide IT support for its brand-new purpose-built building.
The charity – which currently has two premises providing care to patients and their families in central and north Surrey – is set to move to its new hospice in 2016.
Under the terms of the deal, ramsac will supply IT support for all users and manage the network at the existing premises and the new site.
Nigel Harding, chief executive of WSBH, said: "We place our patients at the heart of all our decision making and this applies equally to the use of information technology on which we have become increasingly reliant.
"We needed a partner who could provide us with confidence in our IT platform and confidence that working together, we can future-proof the organisation. For our patients this means developing our connectivity with the NHS and other healthcare partners as well as developing plans to introduce mobile connectivity for our community teams of nurses who every day are delivering personalised, individual care to patients in their homes. I am confident that ramsac will become a close partner of the hospices and we look forward to working with them."
Paul Mew, technical director of ramsac, added: "WSBH are at an important crossroads. Not only do they want to look at how IT can drive day-to-day operational efficiencies in the work they are already doing, they also have a major project lined up for 2016 with the opening of their purpose built, state-of-the-art hospice in Woking.
"We therefore had to demonstrate not only our ability to provide first-class technical support and IT management as a routine, we also had to demonstrate our extensive experiences in helping clients through major projects and through periods of significant organisational change. Ultimately, the hospice needed to appoint an organisation with a strong track record of service delivery, project management and IT innovation. We are absolutely delighted that ramsac has been appointed and we are already enjoying seeing a difference in the way technology is planned, implemented and supported within WSBH."
