BT scores contract win with QPR

Partnership will see BT Business become QPR's official communications provider

BT Business has bagged a contract win with Queens Park Rangers football club that will transform the team's communications.

The multi-year partnership will see BT deliver its BT One Phone and a high-performance network, with 24-hour support, across all QPR's facilities including its Loftus Road stadium.

BT claims its One Phone, which works with EE's 4G network, will bring together QPR's office phone system and mobile phones in a single service hosted in the cloud.

Tony Fernandes, QPR chairman, said: "I am delighted we've reached agreement with BT for this exciting, innovative partnership. I am all for the club embracing new technology and BT are certainly the front runners in this field.

"Our media department has a number of exciting digital plans over the coming years, so to be working closely with BT – with the ability to tap into their technology expertise – will without doubt enhance our communications proposition across the club," he added.

The partnership will mean that from the start of the 2015/16 season, both sets of dugouts will feature BT Sport branding and BT Sport content will appear on the stadium's big screen.

Graham Sutherland, chief executive of BT Business, said: "This is an exciting and high-profile partnership for BT Business. The choice of a communications partner was a critical decision for QPR because technology plays such an integral role in everything they do off the pitch.

"QPR required a robust, capable and reliable network from a partner they trust who can guarantee the club remains connected as a business at all times. Innovative communications technology, such as BT One Phone, will transform the way the club communicates as a business."
