Avnet picks UK for first HP convergence event

Distributor unveils ‘Drive the Deal' initiative with HP in three countries to cater for growing appetite over converged and hyper-converged systems

Avnet is cashing in on the growing demand for converged and hyper-converged systems by launching an HP-centric initiative in three major territories, with the first of a series of roadshows set to take place in the UK.

Covering the UK, Germany and Austria, Avnet's ‘Drive the Deal' initiative provides a dedicated website to guide channel partners through the many different HP storage products on offer to help them develop their HP business and make the most of the spike in converged and hyper-converged systems.

To back the launch, Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA is holding a series of SolutionsPath University events across the three territories aimed at sales and pre-sales partner representatives which focus on the latest trends in the storage market and supply partners with skills and tools to build a converged systems business.

The distributor is also offering partners demo systems for testing and training purposes and to conduct ‘proof of concepts' at client premises.

Andrew Stuart, HP business unit manager at Avnet Technology Solutions UK, said: "We've launched Drive the Deal in collaboration with HP, to not only support partners in the deals they're working on but to drive true, long-term investment in expanding and extending their in-house capabilities for future growth. This initiative helps us work with partners to create leads and opportunities using marketing tools, lead classification, and experienced qualification.

"We can support partners to manage opportunities through our proven account, logistics and finance support. With a perfect combination of product knowledge, industry expertise and personal commitment, we offer our partners individual IT solutions to help them exploit their market potential and improve their business success."

Chris Johnson, VP GM Storage EMEA at HP, added: "This business relationship demonstrates our commitment to offering partners support and technology resources to accelerate business growth. SolutionsPath offers ongoing, practical support and an exclusive knowledge-base of educational materials to help partners become storage experts bringing business benefits to their customers."

The first of the SolutionsPath University events is taking place on 26 March in Surrey, and the event will be replicated on 12 May in Austria, and then in Germany in June. To find out more visit the website.
