Phoenix cuts ribbon on £500,000 warehouse unit
New 15,000 sq ft facility will create 20 jobs, according to Phoenix IT Group
Phoenix IT Group has invested £500,000 in a new configuration and distribution centre in Farnborough.
The 15,000 sq ft warehouse will see the creation of 20 new jobs in the area and will add to the firm's similar facility in Northampton.
The new unit will combine storage and staging areas and will improve the firm's professional services division's logistics support for its customers' IT installations.
Steve Vaughan, chief executive at Phoenix, said the new centre will give the infrastructure services specialist extra agility.
"Opening this centre means that we can provide even more flexibility to our customers in supporting complex rollouts of their IT projects," he said.
"We understand that being agile is essential to our clients and we are delighted that our investment in this facility enables us to deliver that."
With the creation of the Farnborough unit, Phoenix will now have total storage and staging capacity of more than 30,000 sq ft, with its Northampton facility also at 15,000 sq ft.
Last month, Phoenix announced a trading update for its first fiscal half which saw its pre-tax profits come in above expectations at £5m on revenues that fell 8.1 per cent year on year to £107.4m.
