Veeam shakes up partner programme

Refresh hoped to improve profitability of partner programme

Virtualisation vendor Veeam has today announced a series of updates to its ProPartner Programme after luring 3,500 new EMEA partners last year.

The refresh focuses on improving partners' hosting ability through a series of updates to the Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) programme.

Under the new programme, partners will be divided into tiers based on the number of customer virtual machines (VMs) managed with Veeam technology. A new Registered partner level has also been added to the programme.

As part of the programme rejig, the vendor will relaunch its Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) programme and will offer additional resources and tools for enterprise partners such as an invitation-only training scheme for the most dedicated partners in the enterprise space.

Veeam also claims it will improve its deal registration programme, "to protect partner investments and to reward the resellers that are most aligned to selling Veeam's products".

Gilles Pommier, vice president of channel and cloud EMEA at Veeam Software, said he expects the updates to make the partner programme more profitable.

"With the latest additions to Veeam's training programme, our partners will be more knowledgeable and prepared than ever to better serve our 135,000 customers worldwide," he added.

"Veeam is on track for a $1bn (£680m) turnover by 2018 and we look forward to our partners helping us achieve these goals by providing customers with availability for the modern datacentre. These changes will make the programme more engaging and profitable than ever."

Veeam now claims to have 29,000 global partners, following its addition of the 3,500 partners who joined last year in EMEA.
