Infinigate adds Damballa to its vendor arsenal

US security vendor selects Infinigate as first UK distie

US security player Damballa has signed Infinigate as its first UK distributor as it looks to attract local resellers.

Founded in 2006, Damballa provides a threat-detection system which uses big data and machine learning to discover and stop malicious activity. It claims to protect more than 400 million end-points worldwide.

According to Damballa, the agreement was signed "with a focus on recruiting a select number of channel partners", although it did not specify exactly how many.

Under the agreement, Infinigate will provide the channel with full Damballa training, new business generation and pre- and post-sales services.

Alex Teh, joint managing director of Infinigate, said the partnership is an "excellent addition to our arsenal which includes companies like Tripwire, Radware and Corero".

He also said the deal represents a great opportunity for UK resellers.

"The demand for technologies which deliver real-time threat detection is particularly high right now, and having tested the product ourselves, we know that Damballa delivers the best in class," he said.

"Commercially, Damballa offers an excellent opportunity for channel partners and we look forward to working together to build a solid sales pipeline going forward."

David Earhart, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at Damballa, said: "This agreement is the start of a significant strategic partnership as we focus on building our UK market through a two-tier channel model.

"As our UK distributor, Infinigate was the clear choice because they offer proven market-making capabilities and expertise. This is exactly the right foundation from which we will continue to build our market share and expand our customer base in the UK."
