VAR group poaches services specialist from rival player to fill its first managed services director position

Ambitious VAR Shift F7 Group is on an aggressive services growth path after appointing a dedicated managed services director.

James Hunter-Paterson, has joined Shift F7 from Green Fields Technology where he was head of service delivery. Shift F7 Group has been on an aggressive acquisition path for the past few years, snapping up ‘non-competing’ acquisitions as it bids to become a mid-market giant.

Garry King, chief executive of Shift F7 Group, said: “Bringing James on board underlines our commitment to our Datacentre and Managed Services provision. His background and expertise will be a great boost to the services we can provide our customers."

He added: “We have set out to build a business that understands our client’s technological aspirations and James is well placed to add to our ability in meeting these aspirations.”

Nigel Lomas, managing director of the group said the appointment fits in with its expansion plans. “James’ skills will substantially add to our plans for future growth. Having seen significant growth already in managed services for the group, we look forward to working with him to expand and develop the range and level of services we can provide, from IT Helpdesk and proactive systems monitoring to connectivity and security.”
