Ambitious VAR Altinet opens Leeds HQ

Pure Storage, Bloxx and Barracuda partner hoping to triple headcount in four years and increase revenues by 50 to 100 per cent every year

Emerging northern reseller Altinet has moved into a new office in Leeds city centre to accommodate its recent growth and try to attract some of the area's top recruits.

Founded in 2013, the VAR is a relatively new player, but according to co-owner and director Henry Doyle (pictured left), the reseller is setting its sights on some ambitious targets.

"We have the goal to do about 50 to 100 per cent [revenue] growth every year, and that comes with having great relationships with our vendors but also increasing our staff count internally and by doing that we have to open ourselves up to as many people as possible," Doyle said.

"We moved to Leeds for a couple of reasons. The main reason is to put our business in a better position for recruitment and to attract a better pool of people. We are looking for young, enthusiastic people who are coming out of school and university, and by being in the centre of Leeds it also opens up Bradford, Sheffield and even Manchester."

Altinet has 15 staff at the moment but it is going to take on an extra five recruits by the end of the month and it hopes to triple its headcount in the next four years and have 60 employees by 2019. Last month it moved from the outskirts of Leeds in Middleton to a new facility in the city centre.

Altinet has enjoyed some wins in the education industry, and Doyle says this sector accounts for about half of its revenues. Among its customers it counts Scottish schools including the High School of Glasgow, The Glasgow Academy and Albyn School.

For its last fiscal year ending 31 December, Altinet recorded revenues of £1.25m.
