Inoapps looks to emulate British success in the US
Scottish Oracle Platinum reseller targets US revenues of $50m and heavy recruitment from Texas base
Oracle Platinum reseller Inoapps is targeting heavy expansion in the US as it hopes to push past 500 global employees by the end of 2017.
Inoapps launched in the US market last August with an office in Houston, Texas, and has a team of 35 staff there, but according to Inoapps chief executive Andy Bird the firm is now looking to dramatically grow its US headcount.
"We are just finalising a large investment [in the US] to increase our sales force to 35 and increase the consultancy force to around 200, to effectively get it to the same size as our UK business," Bird told CRN.
He said this US expansion will hopefully bring Inoapps' global workforce to 500 staff in the next two years.
Bird added that Inoapps is looking to repeat the strong revenue growth it has enjoyed in the UK.
"We are just trying to replicate the [UK] business in the US and replicate the same services that we have in the UK. We haven't finished our first year in the US yet, but our plan by the end of 2017 is to have a $50m (£33.39m) turnover business in the US," he said.
"The thing that surprised me most was we thought we would be going into a very crowded marketplace in America, and what we had to offer would be one of many. I think especially in the cloud market we are showing we are further ahead than many of the partners across the US and that is helping us grow rapidly in that whole early-mover position."
As well as its base in Texas, Inoapps has UK offices in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Derby. In 2013 the reseller also opened a facility in Kuala Lumpur and Bird said Inoapps is hoping to open a new office in mainland Europe once the economy moves out of recession.
"We want to be seen as an Oracle global systems integrator who can deliver across most regions of the world," he said.
He said Inoapps has become more focused on the cloud and this is going to be a key growth area for the business moving forward, and he hopes Inoapps' global revenues will near $100m by the end of 2017.
