Reseller Circle IT sets £50m revenue goal
Dell partner hoping to quadruple revenues in five years driven by networking, storage and backup
Circle IT is setting its sights on becoming a £30m to £50m-revenue company within the next three to five years.
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Cardiff, the reseller has seen its revenues jump in the past few years and according to its managing director Roger Harry (pictured), Circle IT expects its revenues to be £11m for its current fiscal year ending 31 October. This is up from £7m in 2014, and £4m in 2013.
But according to Harry, Circle IT is aiming for much bigger targets and he is hoping to approach the £50m mark in the next five years.
Circle IT began life in the managed services field, but Harry said its recent growth has been driven by large projects it has secured delivering networking, security and backup, predominately through its partnership with Dell.
"Our relationship with Dell is key; we can get so much business and so many leads with these guys. If you look at Dell they have made some great acquisitions. They were traditionally a PC, server and storage company, and direct channel guys can sell this day in, day out. But what they can't sell is networking, security and backup. It's much more complex and requires longer lead times, [but] for us it's an easy piece... It's what we do day to day.
"Networking is our biggest area of growth. We are now seen as the go-to partner for networking with Dell, so we can quite easily leverage a lot of opportunities in there," Harry said.
Circle IT has offices in Reading and Cardiff, with 85 employees in total, and is in the middle of extending its Cardiff base by 4,000 sq ft which is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
Circle IT counts a range of education clients among its customers, including Milton Keynes College and was recently named one of the 21 suppliers to have provisionally made it onto the ICT for Education framework, which is expected to be worth £300m over four years.
Apart from Dell, Circle IT also partners with Microsoft, VMware and Citrix.
