Exertis hopes to make cool impression with ICE launch
Distributor unveils online tool to help resellers quote and price server/workstation configurations
Exertis has taken the wraps off its Intelligent Configuration Engine (ICE) tool as it looks to help partners speed up their sales cycles.
The tool, aimed at server and workstation configurations, helps resellers accurately quote and price in minutes, providing access to information such as price and stock availability and product details.
It initially covers offerings from Dell, Fujitsu and Lenovo, but will be expanded to include storage offerings from other vendors by the summer.
According to Exertis, ICE can guide resellers without server or workstation expertise to the most appropriate products for their customers, and can also raise awareness of complementary components to help them grab any additional attach opportunities.
The distributor guarantees that a server built from online stock prior to midday can be delivered to a reseller or their customer on the next business day. If ordered after noon, Exertis claims it will deliver between 24 and 48 hours later.
Resellers can also download datasheets, high-res images, installation guides and user manuals to help support specific quotes.
Gareth Bray, general manager server and storage at Exertis, said: "Exertis is renowned for creating new propositions and tools that make life easier and more rewarding for its reseller partners. ICE is the latest development in our ongoing strategy to cater for their needs, not least at a time when speed and accuracy of response can be key elements for securing a successful outcome. ICE puts the most popular server and workstation solutions at our reseller partners’ fingertips, giving them a distinct, competitive advantage."
